Why Learn the New Testament Letters!

Why Learn the Letters in the New Testament!

Learning and obeying the things that the Apostles taught and practiced is a safeguard for you.

If you learn the teachings of the Apostles, they will protect you, from the schemes and tricks of false teachers, false prophets, false apostles, false christs, and false brothers.

In Acts  20: The Apostle Paul said to the Ephesian Elders

28 Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. 29 For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.

2  Peter 1: There is No Private Interpretation of Scripture!

20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Peter says that there is “No private interpretation of Scripture!”

Knowing this will protect you from the myriads of false teachers, and groups, who have their own private interpretations.

  • There are five writers of these 21 books.
  • They are Paul, James, Peter, John, and Jude.
  • The first four of them were Apostles of Jesus.
  • Although Jude was not an apostle, he was a brother of Jesus.

The Apostles were handpicked and personally trained by Jesus Himself.

Matthew  28:18-20

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

“Go Make Disciples” of All the Nations!

The Apostles were with Jesus daily, for about three years.

After His resurrection, Jesus told them,
that He had been given “All Authority,“
in Heaven and on earth.

He then commanded them to “Go Make Disciples” of all the nations, and

He gave them, the authority to accomplish this.

Although we do play a part in making disciples, the only authority that we have is based on what the Apostles wrote in their letters.

In this present world, the only thing that we can Completely Trust is God’s Word!

The only things that we actually know about the teachings, traditions, and commands of the Apostles, are what they wrote in their letters, plus what is written in the book of Acts.

Anything else is just hearsay!

The five writers were unique!

Each of the writers had his own unique gifting, personality, and style of writing.

You can look at them as 5 special friends. Each of their books has a special message that is important for you to learn and know.

Before I started studying the Scriptures seriously, my thinking was quite different than it is now.

I have discovered that when the Scriptures says,

“His thoughts, are higher, than ours,” that really it is true.

Studying the Scriptures is like learning a new language!

When learning the Letters in the New Testament, there are three helpful things you can do!

1st – Listen to the Scriptures

Some people have difficulty listening to the Scriptures.

I think this is usually because they have not practiced enough.

Think about this.

When people heard the Word of God in the first century, they did not have a Bible, to follow along.

They just listened.

2nd – Examine the Scriptures by Book and Chapter

It is helpful to see the overall contents of a book and the content of each of the chapters in the book.

You can use my “Outline of Every book of the Bible!”

You can download it for free on this site.

3rd  – Examine the Scriptures Verse-by-Verse

When you zero in on the Scriptures, Verse-by-Verse, you will see things that become obvious and clear.

When this happens, it will change your mind.

And then, it will change your life!

The Letters in the New Testament, Tie the Old Testament Law and Prophets, together with the Gospel of Christ!

For example:
The Book of Hebrews shows that the New Covenant, based on the blood sacrifice of Jesus, is better
than the Old Covenant, in every way.

A “Verse-by-Verse Study Tool!”

On this website, you can use a Verse-by-Verse study, of each of the New Testament Letters.

These studies include the Bible text, with questions and pop-up windows, showing the Scriptures answer to the question.

Learning the New Testament Letters is Not Easy!

But You can,

If it is important to you!

If You Learn the Letters in the New Testament, You will Never Regret it!
